Trails
The wide range of trails that we offer will answer the needs and interests not only of a beginner or a lover of slow peaceful descents but also of an experienced skier or snowboarder. Have a look at what we’ve got here at Riekstukalns and choose what’s best for you!
THE MAIN TRAIL
The Main Trail is for very fast descents. Throughout the trail you’ll find steep slopes alternating with flatter sections, which together will give you a pleasant illusion of flying. To get to the trail, use the 1st, the 2nd or the 3d ski lift.
SPORT TRAIL
This is the sportiest among our trails. It is just what the doctor ordered for those who love lightning-fast descents and feel confident about their skills. The steep upper section of the trail makes for a good swift start to a breathtaking descent. If you like challenges and feel confident about your skills don’t miss the left side of the trail and try our Big Air!
BOARDERCROSS TRAIL
This is one of the most exciting trails at Riekstukalns. It is most suitable for those who like to add a little bit of adventure to their skiing and snowboarding experiences. Complete with all kinds of jumps and turns, this trail has to be tried at different speeds for extra fun.
THE LONGEST TRAIL
There are two ways to enjoy this trail. You may choose to go slowly and smoothly down a 350-meter long trail, which will require some effort only in the upper section, but you may also wish to go for something more exciting and jump your head off on the off-shoot of the trail on the right side.
HOBBY TRAIL
This is the place for those who feel that the Beginner Trail has become too easy for them. The Hobby Trail has several steeper sections which are perfect for everyone trying to improve their skiing or snowboarding skills.
BEGINNER TRAIL
This is a great trail for learning to ski and snowboard. Our Beginner Trail is sufficiently smooth, which makes the speed just right for learners, and it is also long enough for the beginner to learn something new with each new descent. The ski lift is slower on this trail because learning to use it takes time as well. It is important that your first attempt at skiing or snowboarding is not only technically right but also satisfying! If there’s no one to teach you the basics of skiing or snowboarding, our instructors will be happy to assist.
SNOWBOARDING PARK
Craziest snowboarders will enjoy our snowboarding park with two rows of ramps for high and superhigh jumps, several hips and all kinds of fun jibs. This winter season, the park is equipped with a separate lift and a cool corner to relax and chill-out at the foot of the mountain.
SLEDDING HILL
If you don’t really feel like skiing or snowboarding, go down the Hill on a traditional toboggan, a saucer, or any other thing you can sit on. Remember though that you’ll have to go up the Hill on foot. The Sledding Hill is loved by both kids and grown-ups. Rest assured that your trip will end softly and painlessly even if you don’t manage to brake on time.
